New policy photos: Upon issuing a new policy, it is standard practice for the insurance company to require photos of the four sides of the house. These are included at no additional charge with any inspection. Pre-purchase full home inspections include all photos and certifications required to obtain insurance.

Roof Certifications: If you have an older home, you may need a roof certification to receive or renew your policy. Notices are typically received in the renewal notice. The insurance company will need certification on the estimated remaining life of the roof and your roof must have over 3 years of life remaining.

4-Point Inspections: Again, if you have an older home you may need a 4-point inspection to receive or renew your policy. Notices are typically received in the renewal notice. The insurance company will need certification that the house is not deficient in the 4-points – HVAC, Roof, Electric, Plumbing.

Wind Mitigation Inspections: You may be entitled to discounts of your insurance premium if your home meets the wind mitigation requirements.
